In 2013 we changed our company name to HSM, showing our evolution from humble beginnings in 1944 as Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company to an organization employing more than 2,500 associates in more than 36 manufacturing plants across 15 U.S. states and Canada which serve a vast array of customers in many markets. As a privately held company, our vision is focused on creating diverse solutions for our customers with an emphasis on quality and value.

Our Executive Team
Mark S. Jones
Mark Jones was named President and CEO of HSM in 2016 after serving as the interim president for a year. He has extensive senior level management experience in financial, operational and capital advisory services across diverse industries which include: automotive, aviation, consumer products, distribution, furniture, healthcare, retail, telecommunication and manufacturing industries. Prior to his appointment at HSM, Mark served as the managing director of The Finley Group and senior vice president of Mesirow Financial.
Troy W. Bryce
Chief Financial Officer
Troy Bryce joined HSM in September 2018 in the role of Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for the company’s finance, tax, treasury, and information technology functions as well as all merger & acquisition activities.
He was most recently the Chief Financial Officer at Pharma Tech Industries located in Georgia. Troy has held senior finance roles with public, private equity and family-owned companies such as Snyder’s-Lance, Inc., Ames True Temper, Inc. and Corning, Inc. after beginning his career with Ernst & Young, LLP in Pennsylvania.
Troy earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Shippensburg University and is a certified public accountant, licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Vice President, General Counsel
Ed Abrao-Netto is Vice President and General Counsel of HSM, where he leads the Legal Department in providing support and counsel to HSM and its divisions regarding all commercial and corporate matters, M&A and strategic transactions, regulatory and policy issues, litigation and dispute resolution, and compliance and ethics matters. Ed ensures that HSM conducts its business in an ethical and responsible manner, in keeping with HSM’s culture of integrity.
Ed has extensive and diverse legal and business experience, having previously served in senior in-house counsel positions with a Fortune 200 publicly traded global diversified industrial company, as well as a Fortune 200 publicly traded energy and utility company. Prior to his in-house roles, Ed was in private legal practice as a corporate and finance lawyer with Am Law 100 international law firms.
Ed earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University, received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and also completed a master’s level Certificate in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Operating Officer
Michael Hinshaw was named Chief Operating Officer in 2017. He has global responsibility for day to day leadership and management of HSM’s divisions, including marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality, supply chain management, and procurement. Prior to joining HSM, he served as an interim executive for private equity and publicly traded companies during transformations and M&A periods. He was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, serving high tech and manufacturing businesses globally, and was based in Palo Alto, CA and Charlotte, NC. He began his career with Honeywell International in New Jersey, and ultimately ran one of their packaging businesses. He has an MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia, and was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina.
Vice President of HR
Darrell Bryant was appointed Director of Human Resources in 2016. Darrell is responsible for developing a strategy that will deliver progressive HR solutions while ensuring employees are respected and addressed with fairness at all times. Bryant's career spans almost 20 years within the HR Function primarily dedicated to Talent Management and Human Capital across several industries. Darrell and the entire HR Department are focused on ensuring HSM is an employer of choice in the markets and geographies that we serve.
