In 2013 we changed our company name to HSM, showing our evolution from humble beginnings in 1944 as Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company to an organization employing approximately 2,000 associates in more than 25 manufacturing plants across 13 U.S. states which serve a vast array of customers in many markets. As a privately held company, our vision is focused on creating diverse solutions for our customers with an emphasis on quality and value.

Our Executive Team

Mark S. Jones
President/CEO
Mark Jones was named President and CEO of HSM in 2016 after serving as the interim president for a year. He has extensive senior level management experience in financial, operational and capital advisory services across diverse industries which include: automotive, aviation, consumer products, distribution, furniture, healthcare, retail, telecommunication and manufacturing industries. Prior to his appointment at HSM, Mark served as the managing director of The Finley Group and senior vice president of Mesirow Financial.

Ed Abrao-Netto
Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary and Vice President of Corporate Development
Ed Abrao-Netto is Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary and Vice President of Corporate Development of HSM, where he leads the Legal Department in providing support and counsel to HSM and its divisions regarding all commercial and corporate matters, M&A and strategic transactions, regulatory and policy issues, litigation and dispute resolution, and compliance and ethics matters. Ed ensures that HSM conducts its business in an ethical and responsible manner, in keeping with HSM’s culture of integrity.
In his corporate development role, he provides leadership and support in the development, structuring, negotiation, and execution of key corporate, commercial, and divisional transactions and initiatives.
Ed has extensive and diverse legal and business experience, having previously served in senior in-house counsel positions with a Fortune 200 publicly traded global diversified industrial company, as well as a Fortune 200 publicly traded energy and utility company. Prior to his in-house roles, Ed was in private legal practice as a corporate and finance lawyer with Am Law 100 international law firms.
Ed earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University, received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and also completed a master’s level Certificate in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
